Srinagar, May 13: Students of Class 10 and 12 attempting to apply for the re-evaluation of their answer scripts on Tuesday reported difficulties in completing the process due to the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) website being non-functional, causing significant inconvenience.

Similar issues were also raised by students seeking Xerox copies of their answer scripts, who said the website had been down for the past several days.

As per the notification issued by the JKBOSE, the date for opening of the link for re-evaluation and xerox copies was May 5 of 2025 while the last date to apply for the photocopies of the answer scripts was fixed as May 20 of 2025. The last date for applying for re-evaluation of answer scripts has been fixed as May 30 of 2025 as well.

However, the distressed students who could not qualify the annual regular (2025) examination of class 10th and 12th complained to Greater Kashmir that they were not able to complete the process as the website was out of order.

“We have been trying for the last few days but the website is completely down. We are unable to proceed,” the students said.

The result of class 10th and 12th examination was declared on April 30 of 2025. Around 25.16 percent of the students could not qualify the class 12th exam.

The pass percentage in class 10th was registered as 79.94.

The students from both the classes, not satisfied with the result decided to apply for re-evaluation and also obtain the Xerox of their answer script.

“We urge the JKBOSE authorities to look into the issue as early as possible and restore the website which will enable the students to apply for the reevaluation and also obtain photocopy of their answer scripts,” a group of students said.

An official in JKBOSE said the matter will be looked into. “The issue will be taken up with the concerned,” the official told Greater Kashmir.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, Secretary JKBOSE G H Sheikh said the website was down in view of the security audit ordered by the government.

“There is no fault in the website. But the government has ordered a security audit of the website and the services will be restored most probably within four days,” he said.

Secretary JKBOSE said the last date for applying for re-evaluation and photocopy of answer scripts will be extended for the convenience of the students.

“We have taken up the matter with concerned authorities and requested them to prioritise it. If the website remains down for six days, we will extend the date by seven days,” he said. (GK)
