One Student Dies, 15 Injured in Picnic Bus Accident in Kashmir
SRINAGAR: A female student lost her life, and 15 others sustained injuries when their college bus was involved in an accident near the Vodpora area in North Kashmir’s Handwara on Saturday.
Officials reported that a bus with registration number JK09-6733, transporting students on a picnic trip, overturned after the driver lost control.
Local residents and police quickly arrived at the scene to carry out rescue efforts.
Dr Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, medical superintendent of DH Handwara, confirmed the incident, stating that one female student was declared dead upon arrival, while 15 to 16 others were admitted with injuries. Two of the injured were in critical condition and were referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment. (GNS)
