No ration halted to BPL families due to verification concerns: J&K Govt
The Jammu and Kashmir government clarified on Wednesday that there has been no suspension of ration distribution to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families due to verification concerns.
In response to a question from MLA Mir Saifullah, the government, as reported by Kashmir News Observer (KNO), stated that all eligible households are receiving their entitled food grains under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and at subsidized rates under the Non-Priority Household (NPHH) category.
The Minister in charge of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs clarified that no ration distribution has been stopped due to verification issues.
He further added, “All eligible households and beneficiaries are receiving food grains as per their approved entitlements, free of cost under NFSA and at highly subsidized rates under the NPHH category.” (KNO)
