Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara seized liquor during a routine naka checking and arrested the suspect.
“In a routine naka (checkpoint) operation conducted at Geerhatchi, Kupwara, under the supervision of HC Mohammad Ashraf, a Pulsar motorcycle (JK09B 9147) was signaled to stop for checking. The rider, identified as Mohd Akther Jaan, a resident of Handwara, attempted to flee from the spot but was swiftly and tactfully apprehended by the alert police team,” said a Police Spokesperson in a media statement.
“Upon searching the vehicle, 13 bottles of liquor were recovered from his possession. A case (FIR No. 63/2025) has been registered under relevant sections of the law, and further investigation is underway,” reads the statement as per Alfaaz – The Words.
“Kupwara Police remains committed to ensuring law and order in the district and urges the public to cooperate in curbing illegal activities. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station,” concludes the statement.
