
Over the past two years, the Jammu and Kashmir government has issued approximately 35.12 lakh domicile certificates throughout the Union Territory.
In a written reply to MLA Waheed Ur Rehman Para, the government revealed—according to the Kashmir News Observer (KNO)—that out of these, around 83,742 certificates were granted to individuals who are not originally from the region.
The Minister In Incharge also added that out of which, 83,742 have been granted to individuals from outside the erstwhile state.
It is noteworthy that the legislator Para had sought details on the number of domicile certificates issued to non-locals across Jammu and Kashmir during the last 2 years—(KNO)
