Hajj 2025: Authorities Advise Pilgrims to Confirm HGO Quotas Prior to Making Bookings
SRINAGAR: With 550 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir choosing to undertake Hajj 2025 via Haj Group Organisers (HGOs), the J&K State Hajj Committee has advised them to confirm the registration and quota allocation of their selected operators before finalising any arrangements.
A senior official from the J&K Hajj Committee confirmed that 550 pilgrims from the region are set to perform Hajj 2025 through private Haj Group Organisers (HGOs).
“Currently, 550 individuals from Jammu and Kashmir are planning to travel via private arrangements,” the official stated. “Pilgrims must ensure that the HGO they choose is officially recognised and has received a quota from the ministry. In the past, dealing with unverified operators has led to significant problems, including pilgrims being stranded or denied access to essential Hajj services.”
According to officials, pilgrims can verify the approved list of HGOs and their allotted quotas by visiting the official website of the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
In the meantime, the third phase of orientation and training is underway. Once this phase concludes, a vaccination campaign will be launched, during which each pilgrim will receive three vaccines — including those for influenza and polio — in their respective districts.
Notably, the Saudi government has recently implemented a temporary suspension of Umrah, tourist, and visit visas in the lead-up to the Hajj season. Officials have viewed this decision positively, noting that it will enhance the overall experience and facilities for genuine Hajj pilgrims, particularly those travelling through the official Hajj Committee.
Officials also confirmed that a total of 3,626 pilgrims from Jammu & Kashmir will be undertaking the holy pilgrimage this year. (KNO)
