BGSBU Notification: Submission of Online Scholarship Applications under Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for ST Students 2025-26
The Dean of Students’ Office at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, has released a notification regarding the submission of online applications for the Centrally Sponsored “Post-Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Tribe (ST) Students” for the academic session 2025–26.
The scheme is designed to extend financial support to ST students enrolled in Diploma, Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and higher-level programs. Eligible students are required to apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at scholarships.gov.in.
Important Instructions for Students
Fresh Applicants:
- Students applying for the first time must register on NSP by selecting “New Registration.”
- Applicants must download and install the NSP OTR App from the Google Play Store.
- Students are also required to install the AadhaarFaceRD app for face authentication.
- After successful authentication, students will receive a One-Time Registration (OTR) Number, which is mandatory for applying for scholarships from AY 2025-26 onwards.
Renewal Applicants:
- NSP introduced Face Authentication from AY 2023-24. Students who have already performed authentication and received their OTR number via SMS on their Registered Mobile Number (RMN) can directly apply.
- If the OTR number is not received, it can be retrieved using the “Know your OTR” option on the NSP portal by entering Aadhaar and linked mobile number.
Documents Required for Scholarship Application
Students must upload scanned copies (in PDF/JPG/JPEG format, 150–200 KB) of the following documents:
- Original Domicile/PRC.
- Original ST Category Certificate.
- Income Certificate of parents/guardians issued by competent authority (Salary Certificate for government/private employees).
- Bonafide Certificate duly attested by Head of Institution.
- Fee Receipt in original with name, class, semester, and seal of competent authority.
- Previous Mark Sheets/Promotion Certificates.
- Bank Passbook copy (showing account holder name, account number, IFSC code, branch details).
- Aadhaar Card.
- Affidavit/Undertaking (as per prescribed format) attested by Judicial Magistrate.
- Valid Hosteller Certificate (if applicable).
Submission Process & Deadlines
- After completing the online application process on NSP, students must submit hard copies of applications with all documents to their respective Head of Department on or before 15th September 2025.
- The Head of Department will then consolidate and forward the final list (soft & hard copies) to the Dean of Students, BGSBU, by 20th September 2025.
The notification emphasizes that offline applications will not be entertained, and students must ensure that all uploaded documents are clear, legible, and valid to avoid rejection.

Key Notes for Students
- Scholarship will be credited directly to the student’s Aadhaar-seeded bank account (DBT mode).
- Providing a correct and active email ID and mobile number is mandatory for receiving updates.
- Any wrong information or concealment of facts may lead to cancellation of scholarship, recovery of funds, and blacklisting from future benefits.
