
DL/RC: The deadline for updating your mobile number in the vehicle registration certificate and driving license is March 31st. Starting April 1st, a heavy fine will be imposed on vehicles that haven’t updated their mobile numbers.
Driving License/RC: If you haven’t updated your mobile number in your vehicle registration certificate and driving license yet, make sure to do so soon. From April 1st, vehicles without an updated mobile number could face a significant fine. The Transport Department has issued a directive in this regard, with the Secretary of the Transport Department informing the DTO and MVI through an official letter. Additionally, instructions have been given to raise awareness about updating mobile numbers.
The DTO said that if the vehicle owner does not update the mobile number in his vehicle registration and driving license, then he will have to pay a fine. Also, if the mobile number is not updated, then pollution and other vehicle related facilities will also not be available. MVI Rakesh Ranjan said that the date for updating the mobile number has been fixed till 31st March. Vehicle owners who do not update by 1st April will be fined by the Transport Department. The amount of the fine has not been decided but it is likely to be at least Rs 2,500.
