PM-SYM Pension Scheme – Get Rs 3,000 Per Month
The Government of India has launched the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) pension scheme to provide social security and financial support in old age to workers in the unorganised sector.
The scheme is meant for unorganised workers such as home-based workers, street vendors, landless labourers, self-employed individuals, agricultural workers, and others engaged in similar occupations. Eligible workers must have a monthly income of up to ₹15,000 and fall within the age group of 18 to 40 years.
Under this scheme, unorganised workers receive pension benefits after attaining the eligible age. Detailed information regarding the benefits and provisions of the scheme can be found on the official website of the Ministry of Labour & Employment.
How to Apply:
Details on scheme eligibility, the enrolment process, and the location of facilitation centres/CSC points are available on the LIC website and the Ministry of Labour & Employment site. Beneficiaries may visit facilitation desks at District Labour Offices, LIC offices, Central Labour Offices, and EPF & ESIC offices for assistance.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be an unorganised worker.
- Entry age: Between 18 and 40 years.
- Monthly income: ₹15,000 or below.
Exclusions:
- Should not be engaged in the organised sector or have membership of EPF/NPS/ESIC.
- Should not be an income tax payer.
Required Documents/Details:
- Aadhaar card.
- Savings Bank / Jan-Dhan account number with IFSC.
Enrolment Process:
- Visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) (locations listed on LIC, Ministry of Labour & Employment, or CSC portals).
- Carry Aadhaar card, bank account details, and the initial contribution amount.
- The Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) at the CSC will enter Aadhaar and verify details with UIDAI.
- Additional personal details (mobile number, spouse/nominee info) are captured and eligibility self-certified.
- The system auto-calculates the monthly contribution based on age.
- The subscriber pays the first subscription in cash, and a receipt is generated.
- An Enrolment Form cum Auto Debit mandate is printed and signed, then uploaded.
- A unique Shram Yogi Pension Account Number and card are issued.
- The subscriber receives regular SMS updates about auto-debit activation and account details.
