HED Opens Admissions for UG and IG Programs at JU and Govt Degree Colleges for 2025-26
SRINAGAR, JUNE 15: The Higher Education Department (HED) has announced the start of admissions for the 2025-2026 academic year. Students can now apply for various Four-Year Undergraduate Programs (FYUGP) and Integrated Postgraduate (IG) courses, which include multiple-exit options. These programs are available in all Government Degree Colleges across Jammu & Kashmir, as well as at the University of Jammu’s main and off-site campuses.
Applicants can choose from more than 50 major subjects offered by these institutions. Notably, eligibility is open to all students, whether or not they have appeared for the CUET exam.
Key Admission Dates:
- Online Registration:Â June 16 to July 7, 2025
- Preference Submission (Colleges & Major Subjects):Â July 3 to July 9, 2025
- Allotment of Colleges & Subjects Begins:Â July 11, 2025
The allotments will be merit-based:
- CUET Score will be considered for CUET-participating colleges.
- Class 12th Marks will be considered for non-CUET colleges.
- Leftover seats will be filled based on 10+2 merit in all colleges.

Facilitation Support:
To assist students in the application and preference-filling process, Admission Counselling and Facilitation Centres have been set up in every degree college across J&K. Students are strongly advised to make use of these centers to avoid errors during submission.
